Murmure des Marais

DNSEP, 2025

An immersive sonic and visual experience, offering a moment of spatialised listening in quadraphonic sound. It is a scenographic installation designed to bring to life a sound composition exploring the soundscape of wetland ecosystems.

This composition was created using sounds recorded at the Chareneuve and Le Grenouiller ponds, located in a nature reserve in the Limousin region of France. It brings together, on the one hand, field recordings of sounds travelling through the air and water, and, on the other, recordings of instruments designed to operate in these environments, with the aim of capturing the sounds of water and wind.

I am interested in the sense of hearing and in how listening and sound can shape the imagination and take us beyond the image. Here, the aim is to amplify, through the use of a microphone, these subtle, imperceptible sounds that we cannot hear with our own ears.

Cherry wood loudspeakers, made to develop a sound diffusion system specifically designed for this composition.
